Learn to ride powder on a snowboard

We know what you’re thinking from this picture. And no. That is not an avalanche. Thats a good friend of ours, Chris, who spends his off seasons as an instructor down in New Zealand and he rips. As you can see, and we’re sure you already know, riding powder is one of the most exhilarating experiences you can have.

We’re sure you’ve had a little taste of what it’s like to ride powder. If you’ve experienced that taste, we’re going to go ahead and call you a Powder Hound. Its a good thing. Powder is what we’re in this sport for. That floating feeling. That feeling of invisibility. From face shots to slashes to pillows. We love ‘em all.

Despite all of these goodies, riding in deep powder can be a challenge. We’ve heard horror stories of students being absolutely frustrated by riding powder. They get bogged down, stuck and have difficulty turning. As with everything else, there is technique to snowboard in it. There’s everything from having the proper board set up to the timing of your vertical movement to building a platform for your snowboards edge change. If you don’t get that right, riding in deep powder can be extremely frustrating digging yourself out of chest deep snow. Learn the right way and start ripping down the mountain in style. Lets get those people on the chair lift hootin’ and hollerin’ at you.

How Much Does It Cost?

Our private snowboard lessons are $175 for a two hour session and offer discounted rates if you book 3 or more lessons at once. We advise booking a lesson when there isn’t a massive dump coming. A lot of the techniques we’ll be practicing start on groomers and then move to the powder. And if you’ve had a taste of powder before, you know its hard to not ride it! Also, there’s no commitment up front here. Simply contact us inquiring about lessons, set a date, time and don’t pay until the end of the lesson! We take PayPal, Visas, Checks & Cash. For more info on pricing and what you’ll need for your lesson, view our pricing page.

We try not to go over two hours because often times we see students becoming tired after that amount of time. We work you. But we work you within your limits and safety is our number one concern. If you’d like at the end of each lesson, we’ll text you your key learn focus points so you don’t forget and you can continue to work on them throughout the day!
